Oxford Instruments partners with Hakuto to expand advanced plasma processing capabilities across Japan
Partnership combines Oxford Instruments’ advanced plasma processing technologies with Hakuto’s decades of expertise supporting the Asian semiconductor industry in compound semiconductors, optoelectronics and advanced electronics manufacturing.
BRISTOL, UK and TOKYO, JAPAN – 29 September 2026 – Oxford Instruments is pleased to announce the appointment of Hakuto Co., Ltd. as its compound semiconductor equipment distributor in Japan, strengthening support for customers manufacturing next-generation semiconductor devices and advanced electronic technologies. Japan continues to play a critical role in the global semiconductor ecosystem, with growing demand for advanced process technologies driven by developments in compound semiconductors, including gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) power devices, as well as gallium arsenide (GaAs) and indium phosphide (InP) datacom and optoelectronic applications. Through this collaboration, Oxford Instruments and Hakuto aim to help customers address increasingly complex challenges related to device quality, manufacturing performance, productivity, and cost.

Its local presence and extensive industry experience will enable effective coordination between Japanese customers and Oxford Instruments, helping customers identify advanced plasma processing solutions aligned with their development and manufacturing requirements.
