Oxford Instruments COVID-19 update
On 23 March 2020, the British Prime Minister announced further precautionary measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading. This includes asking people to work from home, unless it is absolutely necessary to attend work to do their role. The phased approach we have taken has enabled us to respond quickly to the changing national, regional and local guidelines. As a result of recent developments, we have implemented further home working for those roles that can and are not already doing so.
In our UK manufacturing activities, our sites have made the necessary adjustments to allow our critical employees that directly support output continue to do so. The operation of our manufacturing sites is continually adapting as the situation evolves. We are observing social distancing rules and have closed all our common areas at these sites to further reduce the level of contact between employees.
In line with State measures, we have temporarily closed our Asylum and X-ray Technology sites in California. In line with local authority guidance, many of our regional offices are also temporarily closed at this time, including Concord, USA; Wiesbaden, Germany; Paris, France. However, our teams here will be continuing to help support our customers remotely and are available to help with any sales or technical matters that may arise.
Whilst the duration and level of disruption from COVID-19 remains uncertain, we are focused on protecting our employees, supporting our customers and keeping our sites open and operational for as long as it is safe to do so during this unprecedented situation.
