CHEMICAL IMAGING

High-Resolution Correlative Confocal Raman Imaging in SEM by Means of RISE Microscopy

High-Resolution Correlative Confocal Raman Imaging in SEM by Means of RISE Microscopy

This webinar shows how Raman imaging can be integrated in a scanning electron microscope and illustrates the advantages of correlative Raman-SEM for combined structural and chemical analyses.

Content

Comprehensive analyses of complex samples often require a combination of different techniques. Structural information on a sample’s surface can be obtained by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Raman imaging can reveal the chemical composition and even distinguish different polymorphs. By combining both techniques, structural and chemical information can be obtained from the same sample position.

This webinar gives a brief introduction to Raman imaging and explains how the technique can be integrated in a scanning electron microscope. The advantages of correlative Raman-SEM imaging for combined structural and chemical analyses are illustrated by several examples including polymers and rocks.
