Benchtop NMR Capabilities and Limitations: An X-Pulse Workshop at UT Knoxville

Benchtop NMR capability has increased dramatically over the last decade. But despite these advances only a small number of scientists have had firsthand experience with benchtop NMR. Oxford Instruments has partnered with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Chemistry department to offer a unique opportunity to learn about the capabilities and limitations of benchtop instruments without having to leave the campus.

The applications scientist from Oxford Instruments will present a general overview of capabilities as well as best practices for using a benchtop NMR, followed by a hands-on demonstration and lunch. There will be time to run your samples after the workshop and in the days to follow. Join us to satisfy your benchtop NMR curiosity!

October 28, 2026 - Agenda to include:

  • A Brief Introduction to NMR
  • Benchtop vs. High-field considerations
  • Multinuclear NMR: 1H, 13C, and beyond!
  • Data showcase of 1D and 2D experiments
  • Diffusion Experiments
  • Flow and VT NMR
  • Hands-on Demonstrations - Feel free to bring your own samples!
