SW-EM 2022

Join us at SW-EM 2022

The South-West Electron Microscopy meeting (SW-EM) returns for 2022 with a new summer date and hopefully a sunny Plymouth venue!

This event is open to anyone working in or with electron microscopy, in an academic, research or commercial environment, and all are welcome to attend!

SW-EM will once again be spread across two days, as well as talks from both funders (i.e. UKRI funding councils) and industry there will also be an exhibition and chance to chat to manufacturers about proposals, products or collaborations.

Oxford Instruments Nanoanalysis will be exhibiting its latest SEM product innovations at the exhibition. Stop by our stand and have a chat with our experts!

On Tuesday 19 July there will be a free, optional workshop focusing on optimising Sample Preparation for EBSD workshop, led by JEOL UK and Oxford Instruments, and is held in the brand new facility at Plymouth Electron Microscopy Centre.

The Workshop Topics include:

  • Understanding the difference between Mechanical and Ion-Beam Polishing
  • Tips on how to maximize indexing of EBSD patterns
  • Learn how to speed up the throughput of EBSD samples.

Places are limited, and workshop delegates must be attending the full South-West Electron Microscopy meeting in order to register.

Oxford Instruments Electron Microscopy products enable you to accurately analyse and characterise materials down to the nanoscale level more rapidly, by combining superior detection and analysis instruments with software platforms that interpret the resulting data in the context of your research.

Supported by our AZtec software platform, our EDS detectors give you accurate compositional analysis in real time, while our WDS quantifies minor and trace elements with unmatched speed and flexibility.

For microstructural detail, the new Symmetry S3 EBSD detectors give unrivalled acquisition speeds, pattern resolution and sensitivity. The resulting certainty allows you to innovate with confidence and redefine the Art of the Possible.
