NbTi/Cu matrix

Composite wire with NbTi in a Cu matrix has provided the foundation for the superconducting magnet industry for thirty years.  This wire is low cost, quite robust, and can be manufactured in a wide range of configurations including both round and rectangular, single core and multifilament, Cu:superconductor ratios from 7:1 down to 1:1, and diameters from several mm down to 0.1 mm.

NbTi/Cu matrix wire is useful for magnets up to field strengths of 10 - 11 tesla.  The data table shows examples of OST 54 filament wire with a Cu:superconductor ratio of 1.35.  A wide range of additional wires is available, please inquire for products that best suit your application.
