Ever wanted to get rid of some of the peak labels on your INCA spectrum?

When looking at complex materials, which contain many elements, the spectrum can sometimes become very confusing with the sheer number of peak labels that are being displayed.

Using INCA's peak label editor it is possible to pick and choose which peaks you want to label in order to clean up your spectrum:

1

Acquire your spectrum. Notice the number of elements present in the example shown below make the spectrum looks a little congested:

2

Right click on the spectrum and select the peak label editor.

3

Click on an element and select which energy lines you wish to label by ticking the relevant boxes.

4

You can also decide whether to apply this label scheme to the current spectrum, all spectra in the site of interest or all spectra in the entire sample. Note: this will only apply to existing spectra already saved in your project.

5

Press apply and the OK to close the peak label editor. Your spectrum/spectra will now have only the selected peak labels shown.
